FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza admits that his team is braced for a tough encounter when they face tricky Manica Diamonds tomorrow at Mandava.
Kick off 3pm
FC Platinum are on 56 points whilst Manica are on 39 points and despite the Zvishavane based team topping the table, Both teams have not tasted defeat in their last five encounters.
“Preparations are going on really well. We are facing a quality side. Come Saturday.
“And if we look on how they started the season they were on fire. And you know with football sometimes you have some mishaps. And I also think they also had some mishaps along the way. But look at them now, they seems to have regrouped.
“They have picked up some points of late. Its not gonna be an easy game for us.
“After the Ngezi game I just said games are becoming more difficult and what we need to take is a positive mind and a positive attitude so that we come out with positive results on Saturday.”
Asked on how they have managed to come this far in the league, Mapeza said.
“It’s all about organisation, in any sport, it’s all about discipline and organisation. If you look at the other games we have played we have been clinical in the final third.
“If you look at our last game against Ngezi, we didn’t have much in terms of scoring orpotunities but we have been working on how to be clinical in front of the goal and take all the orpotunities,” he said.
Platinum will be without Mucheneka and Makumbe who are out due to injuries.
“I’m happy that some of the players are back.
“Injuries do happen in the game of football but what is important is for those guys to get proper treatment so that they dont get long out of the game.”
