Parliament adjourns

The Parliament of Zimbabwe on Wednesday adjourned for two weeks with seating’s resuming on the 22nd of November 2022.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly has passed many bills that are set to be debated on the resumption of parliament later this month.

The Ministry of Finance has two tabled bills that are at the second stage of debate namely Insurance and Public Finance Management (Amendment) Bill 2012.

Insurance and Pensions Commission Bill, 2021 is at the Committee Stage in the National Assembly with the Bill proofs of the Financial Adjustment Bill, 2021 having been transmitted to AG’s Office and Awaiting Gazetting.

Meanwhile the Notice of Presentation of Financial Adjustment Bill, 2022 was transmit[1]ted to the Ministry on 13/6/22. Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage tabled the Police Amendment Bill which is at Second Reading Stage in the National Assembly.

The same goes for the much talked about Private Voluntary Organisations (Amendment) Bill, 2021 under the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, which is at Consideration stage in the National Assembly Gazetted.

Other bills of note include the Child Justice Bill, 2020 under Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs at Second Reading stage in the National Assembly while the Children’s Amendment, 2021 under the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare is at Reading stage in the National
