Stanly Gwanzura, popularly known as Pastor G, is set to launch a new single, Mirira, at a concert aimed at raising clothes and food for the needy and also to launch his healthy living campaign
He is also appealing to people to bring blankets, old clothes, and food to give to the needy in different societies as part of his health initiative.
Pastor G has been constantly attacked, body shamed, trolled, and humiliated because of his body. Nonetheless, he has taken a healthy move by healthy living, and healthy eating, and to date, he has lost 33 kilograms.
Pastor G is a gospel musician who started his musical career in early 2000, launching his first album with a group called Tidings of Love, before going solo later and launching his debut album Tariro.
Pastor G said gospel music is more than just songs but is about the impact being made in people’s lives.
The gospel artist was at some point nicknamed Zimbabwe’s Kirk Franklin, as he enjoyed more singing cover songs for international gospel musicians
He also noted that his music has evolved to suit the current audiences, appealing to both youths and mature audiences, he is being able to appreciate communication with different market segments.
Pastor G also commended the coming in of new media saying;
“When one uploads your content on selling sites such as Amazon, it has credit for your work and the more your music is being played the more you are getting something, unlike in the early 2000s when the music industry was under siege with piracy”
He also noted that as he is launching his new single Mirira, although it talks more about waiting upon the Lord, to him it’s waiting upon his own breakthrough of dealing with obesity and food addiction.
In his concluding statement pastor, G highlighted that people have to encounter their weaknesses and be accountable in order to overcome them, it might be drug abuse, food abuse, or mental health.
